Allyl carbon is generally the carbon which is attached next to the double bonded carbon atom that is sp2 carbon. Allyl carbon are sp3 hybridized carbon atom. The general formula for allyl is R-CH2-CH=CH2 .Here, the third carbon from Right is allyllic carbon.
Vinyl carbon can be formed by removing hydrogen from ethylene molecule. Therefore, the general molecular formula of vinyl compounds is R- CH=CH2. Unlike allyllic carbon, Vinyllic carbon are sp2 hybridized.
